He's Not In California Anymore.....

Well my husband will be heading home tomorrow after spending five days interviewing in the South.... We should have a definite answer by Friday... Because it is such a large move from California to Tennessee - the logistics of everything needs to be figured out... I will be sure to let you know when everything is a definite.... As I shared my belly and nerves are a wreck.. It's not that I don't want to go - I do... It's not that I am afraid... I'm not... It's not that I don't trust God - I very much do... It's just that it's something different and I want to start the ball rolling now... The waiting and the anticipation and the not knowing for a fact is making my belly do flip flops...

I wanted to share with you a few things that Dusty (the husband) experienced that told him he was NOT in California.

1. He saw more trees than people...
2. Rush hour traffic..... there wasn't any traffic...
3. He had several choices of restaurants... BBQ, Fried Chicken, or BBQ...
4. He was eating dinner and all of a sudden the table next to him broke out into song..
5. He drove through a torrential downpour for 3 hours - and no one rode their brakes...
6. There was a tornado warning...
7. People were friendly and looked you in the eye...
8. He saw bugs that he had NEVER seen before.... ewwww
9. The houses there make our home look really small...
10. Rivers and lakes at every turn....

I have a feeling this week is going to be a very long week... I am looking forward to something new...

  1. It sounds a lot like where I am from, I love it!

  2. If the move happens, it will be a change. Sounds good to me though. What do your girls think?

  3. Okay, I've yet to be in a restaurant in the South where they break out into song but I would have loved to be there to hear it. :) Bugs, yes! All kinds. I did notice that there weren't that many in Cali. I'm waiting with anticipation with you and for you.

  4. He forgot to tell you that everyone says please and thank you, and grits are a mainstay to every meal ;o)

  5. @ Mari - the girls are very excited and are having a blast looking at homes on line.. Everyday there is a new home that I "just have to see"... They are nervous too..

  6. Kelly,

I know that you will have a lot of blogging friends out there to support you. My youngest has been wanting to move for quite some time. Praying that God will give you peace and let you know that you will go forth with Him. He will get you through it all. A house is just a building with four walls but a home is where your heart, love and family live.

    Love and Hugs ~ Kat

  7. I'm so excited for you. I'm gonna like having you closer to me ;-)

  8. Kelly, I hope all works out for you and your family. My husband was also laid off in March. I know about those constant "nerves." I'll pray for you that everything works out well. Tennessee sounds like a nice place to be. I kind of like the idea of people bursting out in song:)

  9. Awwww Kelly, how exciting for you!! My mom lives in California and we've visited Tennessee, both places are lovely. I don't envy all the work ahead of you (emotional and physical), I do envy that you are about to embark on a wonderful adventure. Hang in there kid, (referring to the other post concerning the toilet bowl.)It has to get better.
    Love TO you!!!

  10. Thanks for stopping by the Double Wide today and leaving your sweet comment. Good luck in the move or whatever happens. He's got this!

  11. Except for the bugs, that really sounds pretty incredible!

  12. Where are you planning to move in Tennessee? It doesn't sound like Chattanooga.

  13. I have friends who moved from Illinois, to Florida, then to Tennessee -- they like it there. :-) They've talked about how friendly everyone is! Praying for you!

  14. TN is my fav place on Earth...I love it there so much!! why I don't live there is beyond me!! ;)
